Bunny P. Newman
Trenton, SC - Bunny Palmer Newman, wife of Alfred Freeman Newman, passed away June 20, 2023, after a courageous eight years living with multiple myeloma. She was a resident of Trenton, South Carolina.
Bunny, daughter of the late Lawrence E. Palmer (Shorty) and Laura Landrum Palmer, was born December 27, 1956, in Augusta, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son, John Garrett Quattlebaum.
Bunny graduated from Butler High School in 1974 where she was a majorette with the band, a source of pride to her dad. She retired from Riverside Forest Products after 25 years. Before Riverside she worked at C&S Bank and University Hospital. She was a member of Woodlawn UMC.
Bunny is survived by her husband: Freeman; daughter: Lauren Beasley and her husband Dale; grandchildren: Brinley Jean and Logan James. She is also survived by her siblings: Cheryl Gray, Emily Boyles (Dooley), Ann Nelson, Larry Palmer (Kim), Susan Greger (Ron) and Troy Palmer (Donna); sisters-in-law: Rosanne Mason (Charles) and Terri Padgett (Richard). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends who loved her.
After her diagnosis Bunny didn’t give up, instead it seemed to inspire her to travel, go to concerts, ball games (esp. UGA Football-Go Dawgs!) and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She dealt with her illness realistically and courageously as she enjoyed life.
Freeman Newman made her life complete. She enjoyed a happy, secure, fulfilling life following their Elvis-officiated Las Vegas wedding.
Bunny was very loving and generous. She made those around her feel loved and cared for. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
