Evans, GA – Entered into rest Monday, April 22, 2013, Mrs. Carole C. Bailey, 74, wife of 42 years to Mr. Richard E. Bailey. Born Carolyn Josephine Christian on October 29, 1938, daughter of the late Foster Anderson Christian and the late Carolyn Josephine Strickland died peacefully at the home she so dearly loved.

Mrs. Bailey was a native of and life long resident of Augusta, GA. She was a member of the ARC Class of ‘56 where she served many years on the Reunion Committee. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Warren Baptist Church. She was a Charter and Life member of Women in Philanthropy for the CSRA and a Co-Founder of Augusta Scale Service, Georgia Scale Co. and Scale South, Inc. Mrs. Bailey always had a friendly smile and was liked by everyone. She was a warm and caring mother who loved her children and her family.

Family members in addition to her husband include daughter: Kimberly C. Vaughn (Thomas) of Evans; sons: Keith B. Davis, Sr. of Martinez and Kenneth R. Bailey of Augusta; granddaughters: Mandy Vaughn Ortiz of Augusta, Madison Vaughn of Naples, FL. and Morgan Vaughn of Evans, GA; grandsons: Matt Vaughn of Columbia, SC, Miles Vaughn of Evans and Brian Davis of Martinez; and sisters: Judi Jennings (Carmen) of Martinez, GA, and Phyllis Morris (the late Archie) of Evans, GA.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Len Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brian Davis, Chris Jennings, Craig Jennings, Greg Morris, Matt Vaughn, and Miles Vaughn.
