Augusta, GA – Entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, Mrs. Carolyn L. Busbia, 76, wife of the late Mr. Douglas R. Busbia.
Mrs. Busbia graduated from Bowman High School and then attended Bessie Tift College. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Busbia was also a member of Westlake Ladies Golf Association and the CSRA Ladies Golf Association. She worked at Busbia Realty & Insurance Company and the Augusta Richmond County Civic Center. Mrs. Busbia loved college football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs, fishing, and spending time outdoors at Modoc Shores.
Family members include daughter: Rhonda Cornell; sons: Henry Karl Cornell (Myra), Clifford F. Cornell, Jacob “Jake” Busbia (Kristi); grandchildren: Austin Goetz, Megan Goetz, Dylan Goetz, Jacob Vance Busbia, Graham Busbia; sister: Joyce Blackwood of Rome, GA; brothers: Alexander Lunsford of Atlanta and Wayne Lunsford of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Ronald D. Cornell.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the home of Jake and Kristi Busbia, 3530 Carnoustie Dr., Martinez, GA 30907, in Westlake.
Burial will be at Bowman, Georgia City Cemetery at a later date.
