Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, January 24, 2015, Carolyn Stallings Guye, age 90.

Mrs. Guye was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She retired from Fort Gordon with more than 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a volunteer of the Benevolence Ministry until October of 2012. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph Hospital for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, was an accomplished bridge player and loved to read The Bible, sew and knit.

Family members include daughter: Marcia Guye Ireland; son: Russell Guye and wife Mary Edith; grandchildren: Nicholas Guye, Amanda Guye and Caroline Ireland; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery in North Augusta. Pallbearers to include: Ralph Ireland, Chris Smith and Jay Stallings.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bill Neumann, Dr. Danny Newman, Dr. Fred Rosenblume and all of the wonderful ICU staff at Trinity Hospital for the personalized care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Augusta: 3500 Walton Way Extension, Augusta, GA 30909 or to the American Cancer Society: 2607 Commons Boulevard, Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at the church.
