Carolynn Gilbreath
Evans, GA- Carolynn Mock Gilbreath, 92, transitioned from her earthly home to heaven on August 12, 2021. She contracted a breakthrough Covid 19 infection and suffered for 3 weeks before her death.
She was born in Sebring, FL on September 17, 1928. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband Roy E. Gilbreath, Jr. and her grandson Lance Gilbreath. She spent most of her life in Florida but had resided in Augusta for many years.
Carolynn worked and put her husband through engineering school at the University of Florida. Together they raised their 3 sons.
She enjoyed watching sports with her boys, boat rides on the lake, and played some golf herself. She spent most of her time making their home a pleasant place to be and enjoying time with her family.
Carolynn was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she participated in Bible study, the women’s circle, and was a member of the Jane Wells Sunday School class.
She and her husband lived for a short time at Marshall Square and were brave survivors of the fire that happened there.
Carolynn is survived by her three sons Roy E. Gilbreath, III (Judith Shepherd), Clint Gilbreath (Sharon), and Kent Gilbreath (Suzi); her grandchildren Kelly Housholder (Andrew), Kyle Gilbreath (Wendy), and Carolynn Jewell “CJ” Tovar; and great grandchildren Colt, Asher, and Brooke Housholder, and Parker Gilbreath. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A private service will be conducted by Rev. Sargent Nelson.
