Catherine McGee Barbay 

Augusta, GA –Catherine McGee Barbay, 65, wife of Stephen W. Barbay, entered into rest on Sunday, November 12, 2023, suddenly in San Antonio, TX.

She is survived by her husband as well as her daughters: Catherine Barbay, Carmen Barbay, Rosa Barbay and Dora Hauda (Michael); grandchildren: Matisyn and Paiton Allison, Baileigh Horne, Carter Cruz and Luna Hauda;  siblings: Debra McGee, Bridgette McGee, John McGee, Alvin McGee and Michael McGee.

Catherine was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey. She had a love for music and was a member of the music group God Unlimited. She was a member of the Alleluia Community. She was an administrative secretary for Alleluia School, then worked in administration at University Hospital for 10 years. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Van Alstine as celebrant. Interment will follow in Alleluia Community Cemetery in Dearing, GA. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 PM in the Alleluia Community School gym.
