Catherine Edick
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Catherine Lulu Edick, 95, wife of the late Alfred Edick.
Catherine was born on January 11, 1927, in her childhood home of Silverton, West Virginia. She was the youngest and last surviving of 6 children. In 1965, Catherine moved to Augusta, Georgia and worked in the Classified Department of the Augusta-Chronicle Herald for 28.5 years and retired in 1995. She went on to coordinate monthly luncheons for the Augusta Chronicle retiree group. Catherine was a long-time member of the Burns Memorial Church and she enjoyed traveling, attending family reunions and most of all, serving the Lord.
Family members include her son: Rodger Parsons (Mary); grandchildren: Diana Sue Conte (Robert), Brian Parsons (Kim), Bruce Parsons (Shauna), Michael Parsons; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by parents: Shirley & Ollie McMurray; sisters: Myrtle McMurray, Sarah Hupp; brothers: William McMurray, Ralph McMurray, Shirley McMurray; and sons: Wayne Parsons, David Parsons.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor John Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Burns Memorial United Methodist Church 2372 Lumpkin Rd, Augusta, GA 30906.
