Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, June 15, 2012 in Savannah, Ga. Mrs. Catherine Richards Collins, 90, of Augusta.
Mrs. Collins was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She retired after 25 years of service with Gracewood State School and Hospital. She was a longtime member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. Mrs. Collins was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Family members include her son: Jeremiah Preston Collins, Jr. and wife Diane; daughters: Elizabeth Collins Sheehan and husband Patrick, Pamela Collins Perkins and husband James; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; her devoted friend: Jim Carson. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jeremiah Preston Collins Sr.; and her granddaughters: Lisa Collins and Renee Perdue.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Jacek Szuster. Pallbearers will be Pat and Michael Sheehan, John and Rob Foskett, James Perkins, and Jerry Collins.
In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Hospice Savannah Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or www.hospicesavannah.org .
