Augusta, GA – Gone to be with her Maker on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at University Hospital, Mrs. Mary Catherine Andrews Covert, 63, wife of Mr. David Covert.

Cathy was a lifelong member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and a resident of Augusta. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County, was a member of the Irish American Heritage Society and was the 2009 Irish Lady of the Year. Cathy was also a past president and member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians – Richmond #1 of Augusta, and she co-chaired for 20 plus years for the Irish American Heritage Society at the Arts in the Heart Festival.

Family members include: her husband, daughter: Sara - Mills Hook (Brandon Givens), son: Charles Andrews Hook (Melody), stepson: Alex Covert, sisters: Sara Andrews and Anne Feitelson (Phillip), brother: Worth Andrews, III (Phillipa), nieces and nephews: Anna, Jeremy and Greg Feitelson, Elizabeth and Worth Andrews, IV. Cathy was predeceased by her parents G. Worth Andrews, Jr. and Anna Hallinan Andrews.

Funeral mass will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill with Father Gerald Regan celebrant. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bruce Walker, John McElroy, Vinnie Brooks, Mike Rucker, Michael Lyons, Bruce Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Irish American Heritage Society.
