Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, September 25, 2010, Cecil G. Adams, husband of the late Susan Lee Adams.
Mr. Adams joined the U.S. Army at 16 and served his country for 3 years, 9 months and 4 days. He was stationed in Pasadena, CA for one and a half years and Ft. Wainwright, AK. He started in auto sales in 1971, and moved to Denver, CO for 5 years where he worked for Annie Goodrow Ford. Mr. Adams came back to Augusta and worked for Bob Maddox Dodge, and then he worked for 9 years at Bob Beard Ford. He was the owner of C&S and CG Auto Sales. He was a member of Green Meadows, Ft. Gordon, and Goshen golf clubs.
Family members include his son: KorLee Adams (Melissa) of Martinez, GA, daughter: Chanda Adams Pitcher (Jonathan) of Evans, GA, grandchildren: Austin Lee Adams and Addison Lee Pitcher, brother: William H. Adams, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Chaplain Stephen Russ officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
