Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, March 9, 2016, Mr. Cecil S. Collins, Jr., 66.
Cecil was a member of the Episcopal Church. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years and retired after 25 years, as Fleet Manager for the Vehicle Services/Public Safety division at Medical College of Georgia. Cecil was an avid NASCAR fan and member of the NAFTA. He loved dirt track and RC car racing. He was a very giving and thoughtful person and cared about others. Cecil would want each of you to know, he’s not gone, he’s just gone fishing.
Family members include his sons: Cris Collins (Lisa) of Augusta and Clay Collins (Jennifer) of Grovetown; 1 daughter: Catherine Collins of Augusta; five grandchildren: Caitlin Collins, Lauren Collins, Jake Crouch, Cailey Collins and Allison Collins; mother of his children: Debbie Collins; 1 sister: Maureen Johnson; numerous brothers and sisters in law; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and Miss Kitty, his beloved pet.
A funeral service will be Monday, March 14, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Whisnant, Jason Smith, Jake Crouch, Tommy Dunn, Brock Wilson, Trent Wilson and Mark Franklin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Augusta Warriors Project, 4115 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
