Augusta – Mr. Charles A. Morris, husband of the late “Jo” P. Morris, entered into rest on Friday, October 23, 2009

Mr. Morris was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII, having fought in Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe and the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart.
Mr. Morris worked in operations at DuPont where he retired after 32 years of service. “He was never unemployed at anytime since the beginning of social security.”

Family members include his daughters: Linda Morris Fuqua of Conyers, GA, Ann Morris of Augusta, Debbie Morris Crider and husband Jerry of Conyers, GA, Lisa Morris Dove and husband Rudy of Conyers, GA; brother: Everette Morris of Augusta; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Charles and Rev. Maxine Whisnant officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Christopher Dove, Jason Dove, Cameron Dove, Jonathan Fuqua, Jerry Crider and Richard Stafford.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 1105 Furys Lane,
Suite D, Augusta, GA 30907or to the American Lung Association, 2050 Walton Way
Suite 208, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, October 25, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at
