Charles Allen Black
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, September 7, 2016, Mr. Charles Allen Black, 85, husband of Mrs. Emma H. Black.
Mr. Black was a native of Lowndes County, GA but lived in the Augusta area for many years. He was the owner and operator of C.A. Black Builders from 1968 until 1998. Mr. Black was a charter member of Miracle Baptist Church. He served his church as a deacon, elder and trustee and taught the Forever Young Sunday School Class
Family members in addition to his wife include sons: Henry Black (Elaine) of Blythe, GA and Auley Black (Debbie) of Augusta; daughters: Wanda Hatfield (Dick), Charlotte Reilly (Bob) of Augusta and Karen Arnett (Tommy) of Hephzibah; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Black and Leona McDonald Black, brothers, James Edward Black and John David Black and his sister, Wyolene Zipperer.
A funeral service will be Sunday, September 11, 2016, 3:00 P.M. at Miracle Baptist Church with Rev. John Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Miracle Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Miracle Baptist Church, 1308 Hephzibah McBean Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815.
