Mr. Charles E. “Chuck” Neely
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, November 13, 2011, Mr. Charles E. “Chuck” Neely, 77, husband of the late Sara LaFavor Neely.
Mr. Neely served 25 years in the U.S. Army as a First Sergeant E-8. He received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two Overseas Bars, the National Defense Service Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation. After his time in the service Mr. Neely worked with Atlanta Dairies. He then joined Wackenhut where he worked for 11 years and then Walmart for 10 years in the hardware department. Mr. Neely was a member of Martinez Baptist Church.
Family members include daughter: Marie Speer (Steve) of St. John, AZ; step daughters: Jayne May Norman (Perry) of Martinez and Joyce May Loyal (Ranny) of Augusta; grandchildren: Stevie Speer, April Grealish and Heather Carver; great grandchildren: Emily, Megan, Bryson and Cole; sisters: Robbie Prater and Brenda Silas both of McMennville, TN. Mr. Neely was predeceased by his brother Mack Neely and his son John Robert Neely.
The family wishes to thank the staff of ICU at Doctors Hospital for their loving care of Chuck and the support they gave to the family.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Phillip Winsett officiating.
