Charlie left the practice of law to attend Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. While in seminary, he met and married his wife, Winter, and they served together as missionaries for three years in Iiyama, Japan.
Upon returning to the United States from Japan, Charlie moved back to his hometown of Montgomery and served on the pastoral staff at Trinity Presbyterian Church. In 2000, Charlie and Winter answered the call to plant a church in Evans, Georgia. He remained the Senior Pastor at Redeemer Church until he was unexpectedly called home by his Lord and Savior.
Charlie dedicated his life to the ministry of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He never preached without sharing the Gospel. It was of utmost importance to him that people hear the truth about Jesus. He took to heart the words of the Great Commission by serving his Lord around the world.
