Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, December 08, 2012, Mr. Charles W. Beaird, 89, husband of Mrs. Evelyn C. Beaird of 63 years.

Mr. Beaird graduated from Cullman County Alabama High school and Auburn University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa fraternities. After serving proudly in WWII, he remained in the Army Reserves and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was an active member of the Georgia Football Officials Association and was a scorer for the Masters Golf Tournament for 40 years. Mr. Beaird retired from the VA Hospital where he served as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Staff. He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors at VAHFCU for 20 years.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Carolyn Beaird of Atlanta, Babs Beaird Barrett (Bob) of Birmingham, AL and Brownie Beaird Redfearn of Augusta; sons: Wes Beaird (Roxane) of Augusta and William Dean Beaird of Athens; sister: Carolyn Johnson of Montgomery, AL; granddaughters: Jennifer Kiel, Karen Spencer, Mary Ann Bridges and Susan Redfearn and three great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to Christine Price of Bright Star, the staffs at St. John Towers and Golden Living Center.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. Honorary escorts will be the Adult Singles and Couples Sunday School Class.

The family request that memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at
