Graniteville, SC – Mr. Charley O. Akester, born in1948, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathleen; two daughters: Tracey Layne and Lori Ford; four grandchildren: Kenneth E. Mutch, Jr, Samuel Beville, Heather Ford and Nicholas Leake; 12 great grandchildren; sister: Janice Dietz; brother in law; Skip Malzi; his beloved dog Cody.
Charley served in the US Army with the 101st 82nd Airborne Division.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 S. Aiken Blvd SE, Aiken, SC 29803, with Rev. Donald Pope officiating. The family will receive friends following.In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to any Regions Bank in memory of Charley Akester.
