Chris Zeigler

On April 20th, 2024, Chris Zeigler, 63, left his earthly home and now is resting in the arms of his savior Jesus. He was a Charter Member of West Acres Baptist Church where he served in many areas over the years. He always had a smile on his face and loved his family, friends, and Jesus deeply. He was affectionately known by family and many friends as Z-pa.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shawn, two sons Harrison Zeigler (Kayla) and Stephen Zeigler (Chelsea), three grandchildren, Abel Zeigler, Stella Zeigler, and Charlie Branscum, a brother Serrell Zeigler, sister Patti Edwards (Robbie), sister Susan Hendricks (Bryan), brother-in-law James Langston (Desiree), loving in-laws Reverend Guy and Ann Langston, as well as a number of nieces and nephews whom he loved greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Lois Zeigler.

He was retired from MCG where he served 30 years as the Manager of IT Networking and then went on to work and retire from SRP Federal Credit Union after 14 years where he served as Assistant Vice President for IT. But his favorite job was being Santa and bringing true joy by enabling children to always believe in Santa. God had blessed him with the look of Santa and such love for children which showed everywhere he went. Whether he was serving in his Santa suit or just being in a restaurant or store, he would smile that loving smile and talk with them. He loved to watch their eyes light up and listen to their Christmas lists. It was his greatest joy and he looked forward to Christmas season every year. Santa will be greatly missed by many children especially those he saw on a yearly basis. He also had a love for Disney World and looked forward to taking the family there on many trips. He was an avid Goofy lover and his collection of Goofy is well stocked.

The service will be held at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Rd., Evans, GA on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. followed by a graveside at 3:30 P.M. at Ways Baptist Church, 4991 Campground Rd., Wrens, GA. Please note that this is Ways Baptist Church not Ways Grove Church which is located close to the church. Officiating the services will be Rev. Malone Morris, Rev. Larry Harmon, and Rev. Guy Langston. Family will receive friends Monday, April 22nd from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son and again at West Acres Baptist Church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be some of his nephews: Trey Edwards, Austin Hendricks, Joshua Langston, and Will Smith and two of his closest friends who were like brothers to him, Mark Adams and Bobby James.
