Mrs. Christa T. Conrad

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Christa T. Conrad passed into the Lord’s arms peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

She was born in Hanover, Germany on April 14, 1928 and is preceded in death by her parents and two sons.

Mrs. Conrad was a proud citizen of the United States since October 23, 1961, a devoted spouse, caring homemaker, Nanny, loving Mother, Grandmother, and faithful friend. She greatly loved the outdoors and spent many hours caring for plants, flowers, birds, and animals. Mrs. Conrad was rarely found without a faithful pet by her side, a baby bouncing in her lap, or a flamingo in the yard. She fought an unseen battle daily with cancer for the last 23 years. Her strong will, determination, faith, generosity, and care have been an inspiration to many and her smile will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Charles Conrad; two daughters: Deborah Doggett (TN), and Karen Phillips-Foots (GA); son: Nick Lindner (CA); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Chaplain Stephen M. Russ officiating.

The family wishes to thank the Augusta Oncology Group and extend a special thanks to Dr. Sharad Ghamande and Staff.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CSRA GYN Cancer Support Group, PO Box 3485, Augusta, GA 30914.

The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 4:00 P.M. until time of the service at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Please sign the guestbook at www.thomaspoteet.com
