Christian Jean Barnes

Christian Jean Barnes 59, Mother of Leila Cullars and Thomas Barnes and beloved daughter of James Toth Sr. and Jean Toth, entered into rest Friday February 23rd. She was known for affecting the lives of others positively and guiding many to a relationship with God. Many remember her for her vibrant and positive spirit. As a mother she loved unconditionally and encouraged her children with the Word. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, watching her grandchildren play soccer, and going to the beach as a family.  She is a graduate of Nazareth College with a BSN. She served 8 years in the Army Nurse Core and 35 years working for the VA Medical Center. She was the definition of a child of God serving others always before serving herself.

Christian was born in Coldwater Michigan. Raised by her parents she worked and helped with upkeep in the household. After high school she decided to attend Nazareth College and earned her BSN. She then joined the military. After 8 years of serving her country, she retired as a Captain. After this Christian started her work at the VA Medical Center working in the Mental Health Clinic. She oversaw many programs in her workplace. She worked in the Augusta, Green Bay, and Vierra facilities within the VA. After 35 years with the VA, she retired and moved back to Augusta to be with her family.
