Hephzibah, GA – Mrs. Christina Dear Hensley, 63, loving wife of Luther W. Hensley, Jr., was called home Tuesday, December 6, 2011.
Mrs. Hensley was a native of Charleston, SC and resided in the Augusta area. She worked as a RN at St. Joseph Hospital and Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Augusta. She loved nursing and taking care of others. Mrs. Hensley loved Christ and celebrated each moment of her life. She adored her grandchildren, loved her husband and canine child Buddy. She enjoyed traveling with a special love for the ocean (Hilton Head Island, SC). Mrs. Hensley loved her friends, loved having friends, and was a friend to everybody she met.
Family members in addition to her husband include her daughter: Lisa Marie Baxter (Greg) of Hilton Head, SC; sons: Christopher W. Hensley (Tricia) of Evans, GA, Matthew Hensley (Kimberly) of Silverdale, WA; grandchildren: Maranda, Jenna, Brandon, Dalton, Colton, Piper, Gracie Mae; and brother, Randy Dear. She was predeceased by her mother, Ollie Matson Dear; her father, Jeptha W. Dear, Jr.; and her brother, Steve Dear.
A Vigil Service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Father Thomas Healy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Hospice, 2803 Wrightsboro Road # 38, Augusta, GA, 30909.
