Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 14, 2013, Mrs. Claire Rousakis, 81, wife of the late Bill Rousakis.
Ms. Rousakis, daughter of the late Frederick James and Pauline Cann Scheffler, was born in Coral Gables, FL in 1931. For 36 years, she worked for DuPont at the Savannah River Plant, retiring in 1987. Claire was also an avid bridge player. She was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Trinity Hospital).
Family members include sister: Louise Kudro of Westminster, SC; nephew: Michael Kudro of Boynton Beach, FL; and niece: Christine Kudro Cordes of Greer, SC. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son: Dimitri Rousakis.
Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Winchell celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Hospice, 2803 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30909 or to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Council of the United States, 58 Progress Parkway, Maryland Heights, MO 63043.
A vigil service will be held on Monday evening at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
