Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, March 16, 2016, Mrs. Clare Schweers McCall, 85, wife of the late George Martin McCall.
Clare was a 1951 graduate of St. Joseph Infirmary School of Nursing. She received her Bachelor Degree from Catholic University in Washington, DC, and her Masters in Nursing from University of North Carolina in 1964. Clare worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Charlotte Memorial Hospital and taught at UNC Charlotte for 11 years. She will be missed by all who knew her because of her optimistic nature and generous spirit.
Family members include her children: Bryn C. McCall and husband Richard B. Renton, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, and Joseph M. McCall of Washington, DC; the late Beth G. McCall of Denver, CO; sister: Rocelia S. DeBorde of Spartanburg; sister-in-law: Jane Allen Schweers and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. McCall was preceded in death by her sister: Elizabeth H. Schweers of Augusta and brother: Edward H. Schweers of Atlanta
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Jerry Ragan celebrant.
The family wishes to thank all of Clare’s close friends. They were her life spirit and support.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave, Augusta, GA 30904.
