Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, August 19, 2023, Claude Augustus Graybill III, 90, loving wife Mary JoAnn Graybill.

Claude graduated from Richmond Academy, attended Junior College of Augusta, and graduated from the University of Georgia. He was an independent insurance agent for 33 years, spending his last 10 years with Roy Scarborough & Associates where he retired in July of 2003. He was named Insurance Agent of the Year in 1975 and held Certified Insurance Counselor Designation. Claude was a longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church since 1941 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was a past member of the Board of Directors - Augusta Association of Independent Insurance Agents and past member of the State Board of Directors - Georgia Association of Professional Insurance Agents. Claude was past president of the Augusta AMBUCS and member from 1964-2008, past president of T. Harry Garrett Elementary School PTA, past president of the Cub Scout Master Pack II, past president of the Columbia County GA Bulldog Club, Board of Directors and Past President of Augusta Training Shop for the Handicapped, and past Little League and Recreation Dept. Football and Baseball coach.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his sons: James David Graybill (Terri), Bob Graybill (Renee), and Claude Augustus Graybill “Bo” IV; grandchildren: Caitlin Thompson (Paul), Jacob (CeCe), Justin, Nathanael, and Caleb; and great grandchildren: Beckham and Linden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Elizabeth Graybill, and two brothers.

A private graveside service will be held in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating.
