AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Tuesday, March 23, 2009, at MCG, Mr. Clifford T. “Terry” Melton, 69, husband of Sara “Sally” McMahon Melton.
Mr. Melton is a native of Augusta, and lived in Marietta,GA and Augusta for the past 9 years. He had served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Melton was retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad after 40 years where he was the Director of Terminal and Stations Operations. He was an avid golfer and Bulldawg Fan. Mr. Melton was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughters: Ashley Melton-Phillips and husband Hugh of Charleston, SC, Sara Bennett and husband Dan of Augusta, GA, sons: Cliff Melton and Bunny Iovan of Seattle, WA, Sean Melton and wife Emily of Panama City, FL, 3 grandchildren: Tripp Bennett, Britt Bennett and Mikey Melton, brother: Arthur Wade Melton and wife Mary of VA Beach, VA.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., St Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Ragan celebrant. Pallbearers will be Greg Ward, Lynn Fairley, Terry Johnson, Jim Moore, Rick Brewer, Gary Myers, Danny Morgan and Earle Lovering, Sr. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to ALS of GA, 1955 Cliff Valley Way, Suite 116, Atlanta, GA 30329.
