Clifton Watts
Evans, GA – Entered into the arms of Jesus, Clifton B. Watts, Monday, April 17, 2017. He leaves behind his grieving family, but we will rejoice and praise our Mighty God for his promise of eternal life.
Cliff was a longtime member of First Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He served in the United States Navy as an Engineman aboard the USS White River LSMR 536. A rocket ship that provided in-shore fire support on the coast and waterways of South Vietnam from 1965 to 1968. Cliff was fiercely proud of the ship as well as the crew he served with and maintained contact with them throughout his life. Cliff worked for Rental Uniform for many years, where he ran a route. He was a District Manager for The Augusta Chronicle. Finally he retired from the City of Augusta Water Utilities Department in 2007. Prior to falling ill, he filled his time working as a crossing guard for Richmond County. Cliff never met a stranger, was always smiling and could always amuse everyone with stories. He had a story for any situation! Those who knew Cliff, loved him and never had a harsh word for him. Cliff will be loved, missed and cherished forever.
