Clyde J. “Spider” Webb
Evans, GA – Entered into rest Friday, April 29, 2011, Mr. Clyde J. “Spider” Webb, 89, husband of Harriett Turner Webb.
Mr. Webb was born in Little Rock, AR, raised on Whitemarsh Island outside of Savannah, GA and graduated from Savannah High School in 1940. He worked as an Installation PBX Foreman with Southern Bell. Mr. Webb was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, a Mason, and a Veteran of WWII serving in the Battle of Iwo Jima with the 4th Marine Division. He was devoted to his family and his work.
Family members in addition to his wife, include daughters: Sharon Butler (Dan) of Evans, Carolyn Newman (Kenneth) of Fitzpatrick, AL; granddaughters: Cheryl Skinner (Matt), Elizabeth Butler; grandsons: the late Patrick Blaine Newman, the late Brandon Webb Newman; great-grandchildren: Maya Leigh, Gage Patrick; and nephew, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Gene Crapse (Jenny Sue).
The family would like to thank the Staff of GA War Veteran’s Nursing Home for the care they provided him for the last four years.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to EAMC Fisher House, Bldg 280, Fisher House Rd., Ft. Gordon, GA 30905.
