Col. Harold C. Qualman DDS
Evans, GA – Dr. Harold C. (Harry) Qualman of Evans, GA, age 82, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013. He was born on June 13, 1932 in Bay City, MI to the late Harold and Mary (Bero) Qualman.
Dr. Qualman practiced Dentistry in Port Huron, MI for five years, and after entering the United States Army, he retired from the Army Dental Corps after thirty-one years of service, at the rank of Colonel. He was a life member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association, the Military Officers Association, and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include three children: Robert C. (Brenda Bildstein) Qualman of GA, John M. (Ruth E. Sommerville) Qualman of NC, Jennifer Q. (Roger) Olson of FL; one step-daughter: Debra K (Bill) Jennings of Wytheville, VA; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grand children, 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Ginster, his second wife Vernell Gantt, a son William Qualman, a step-daughter, Sheryl Phipps and a step-great-grandchild Stephen Phipps.
Entombment will be at West End Cemetery in Wytheville, VA on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Gary Houseman officiating. Barnett Funeral Home (276-228-3121) is in charge of the arrangements.
