Col. Robert W. Partain, III

Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, March 16, 2025, Colonel Robert Winton Partain, III, 66, loving husband of 35 years to Lisa Partain.

Colonel Partain began his career with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in 1978, dedicating himself to protecting and serving our community. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1982 and reached the rank of colonel in 2013. After 43 years of unwavering service, he retired in 2021, at which time the RCSO Armory at the Training Facility was named in his honor. He spent many years in narcotics, working tirelessly to combat drugs and violent crime in our area. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to law enforcement left a lasting impact on the Richmond County Sheriff's Office and the citizens he served. He will be deeply missed by many.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Tristan Partain and wife Micah; daughter: Emily Partain; grandson: Crew T. Partain; sisters: Mary P. Ruppert and Lee Ann Partain; and his four-legged constant companion: Sammy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Partain.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jillella for his many years of care, along with the numerous Oncology nurses.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 at 12:30 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Hankerson officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray Meyers, John Gray, Pat Clayton, Ty Hester, Luther Kirby, and Kelvin Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
