Appling, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 12, 2009, Col Stephen M. Cameron, husband of Helen Doraine McCartney-Clayton.

Col Cameron was a graduate of the University of Detroit School of Dentistry and was a
maxillofacial prosthodontist with the U.S. Army Dental Activity. He was a member of the American College of Prosthodontists and a Life Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics; was, Assistant Director of the prosthodontic residency program at Tingay U.S. Army Dental Clinic in Ft. Gordon, Georgia from 1991 to 1998; and director from1998 until 2003. The last years of service, Col Cameron was Project Officer of major renovation of the Tingay Clinic.

His greatest joy was his wife and children. He took pride in the skills and knowledge he shared with his colleagues and residents. Every patient was a chance for Steve to perfect and share his gift. He served his country with great honor and wore the uniform proudly.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his sons: Ian W. Cameron of North Augusta, SC, Michael C. Cameron of Atlanta, GA; daughter: Cristen C. Cameron of Ashville, NC;
Grandson, Owen S. O. Cameron; sister-in-law: Wendi Addis and husband Glenn R. Addis (U.S. Navy, retired) and nephews, Shawn and Joel Addis; and special friends: Harry Parker, Max Gaston and Sharon Korte. Col Cameron was predeceased by his parents: John Scott Cameron and Dorothy Gainor Cameron and brother: John Scott Cameron II.

A Memorial Celebration will be held Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at the Tingay Dental Clinic at Ft. Gordon. Col Cameron will be inurned in Arlington National Cemetery.
