Coolidge A. “Butch” Brumley

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Trinity Hospital, Mr. Coolidge A. “Butch” Brumley, 85, husband of Leona J. Brumley of Martinez.
Mr. Brumley was born in Mayo, FL and resided in the Augusta area since 1964. He was a member of Masters Way Christian Church. Mr. Brumley served in the U.S. Army during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring as a CSM after serving 26 years. During his service he received the Bronze Star, WWII Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Service Medal (Thailand), and Combat Medical Badge (2nd Award). Mr. Brumley held life memberships in the Elks Lodge 205 where he was Elk of the Year twice, American Legion Post 63, and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Inc. Mr. Brumley also worked at University Hospital where he retired after 10 years.
Family members in addition to his wife include son: Larry D. Brumley of Sandy Springs, GA; daughters: Nancy B. Gessling of Blue Ridge, GA, Judith Baker of Wildwood, FL; brother, C. E. Brumley; two granddaughters, one grandson, one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter, and two great-great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Military Chaplain and Sr. Minister Jim Joiner officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
