Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, February 27, 2017, Mrs. Cyndia Sartin “Cindy” Beattie, 83 wife of Mr. Robert C. Beattie, Jr.

Mrs. Beattie was a native of Hattiesburg, MS but spent most of her life in Augusta. She attended Mercer University and was a member of the graduating class of 1955. While at Mercer, she was a member of the Cardinal Key Honor Society, President of the Pan-Hellenic Council, a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, President of Ciceronian Literary Society, and served on the Women’s Student Government. Mrs. Beattie retired as a teacher with the Richmond County Board of Education. She was a member of The Hill Baptist Church where she was a past Sunday School teacher and taught Bible School. Mrs. Beattie was also active with the Meals-on-Wheels program.

Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Beth Wilson of Augusta, Lauren Banks (Buzzy) of Evans; grandchildren: Stephanie Wilson of Augusta, Steve Wilson of Augusta, Robert Banks of Evans, Dwight Banks of Evans, Lee Banks of Evans and William Banks of Augusta; and great grandchildren: Weylan Morris and Jolene Wilson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 3, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Marty Baker officiating.

Memorials contributions may be made to Augusta Christian Schools, 313 Baston Road, Martinez, GA 30907.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at
