Daniel was a native of Augusta, graduated from Georgia State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a passionate writer and enjoyed fishing as a hobby.

Family members include his parents: LeRoy and JoAnn Hoover Skinner; brother: Matthew Lee Skinner and wife Cheryl; niece: Maya Leigh Skinner; nephew: Gage Patrick Skinner; aunt: Kathy Hoover; uncle: Marshall E. Skinner and wife Sandra, and other loving family members.

Memorial services will be Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Alan Faulkner officiating.
