Daniel Walter

Daniel B. Walter, 94, husband of the late Elizabeth C. Walter, entered into rest June 2, 2023. Dan was a native of Augusta and a life-long member of St. Mary On The Hill Catholic Church. Dan enjoyed volunteering at the church, in addition to several other local organizations, and was an avid traveler having visited 20+ countries in his retirement. He was a proud recipient of the 2019 Bishop Gartland Award and was the 2005 Grand Marshal of the Irish American Heritage Society annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Dan is survived by his daughter Mary W. Dressel (Bobby); sons Daniel B. Walter, Jr. and Michael E. Walter (Renee); granddaughters Brittany Ann Walker and Brie Anna Storey; and sister Mary Freeman.

Vigil service will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 5:00 PM. Family will receive visitors immediately afterwards until 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary On The Hill Catholic Church on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
