Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, November 01, 2012, Mr. Darius Aubrey Padgett, 79, husband of the late Peggy Padgett.
Mr. Padgett was born in Toombs County but lived in Augusta for the last 60 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Padgett was in the propane gas business for 40 years and retired as a service manager for a local propane gas company. He was an active member of HIS Community Church since 1978 to present. He was a member of the choir and men’s fellowship group. Mr. Padgett was an avid fisherman and hunter. “Papa” dearly loved all his grandchildren.
Family members include son: Michael A. Padgett (Brenda); daughter: Angie Padgett; grandchildren: Candi Padgett Gonzalez (Herby), Dylan Michael Padgett; great grandchildren: Jada Camille Gonzalez, Cade Justice Gonzalez; sisters: Christine Gilbreath, Irma Jean Hadden; and brother: Troyce Padgett.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012, 11:00 A.M., at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Ken Young, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, c/o Ramona Little, 1101 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30901. The family is deeply indebted to the loving and professional care their dad received during his stay at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.
