Darren Thomas Bryant

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, March 23, 2023, Mr. Darren Thomas Bryant, 59, loving husband of Loreen “Lori” Bryant.
Darren was born March 7, 1964 in Vancouver, British Columbia and lived in many places, but made his home in Augusta in April 2022. He lived life to the fullest, had a heart for people in need, and a robust sense of humor. As a young Canadian, he learned to skate and play hockey as soon as he could stand. At 6 years old, a business associate of his father's arranged a trip to Minnesota to meet and spend the day with Bobby Orr, who then played for the Boston Bruins, and included a trip to the locker room to meet the rest of the team. His account of this day has been his favorite story to tell and it created in him a lifelong Bruins fan. He excelled in other sports as well, notably soccer, and the family moved to south Florida in 1979 so he could attend St. Andrews School to play on their highly rated team. This move benefited him with a scholarship to Eckerd College. As an adult he developed a passion for golf which he loved sharing with others and in which he pursued an amateur career. He spent his life in real estate as a contractor & developer, pursuing his other passion of rescuing and restoring old homes, commercial buildings, and even an old schoolhouse. His endeavors to save older homes in the downtown Aiken community were the focus of articles in the Augusta Chronicle in the early 2000's.
Family members in addition to his wife include his children whom he loved fiercely: Brandie-Angel Bryant, Lexington Bryant, Riley Bryant, Remington Bryant, and Landry Bryant; stepchildren: Kevin (Morgan) Figlewicz and Matthew (Kiley) Figlewicz; grandchildren: Brecklyn-Ty Evans, Jae Evans, & Beckham Evans; his parents: Thomas G. Bryant and Eileen Bryant; brother: Jason Bryant; sister: the late Tiffany Bryant; his four-legged companion Roscoe; and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins in Winnipeg, Manitoba & the southern United States.
The memorial service will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11am at the Vineyard Church of Augusta, 3126 Parrish Road, with Rev. Reese LeRoy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
