Detroit, Michigan-David G. Graves entered into rest on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Graves was born in Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from Curtis Baptist High School and the Art and Frame Institute in Atlanta. He was co-owner of the Augusta Art and Frame Shop on Wrightsboro Road with his father from 1983-1989. He began employment in 1989 with Northwest Airlines based in Detroit, MI, which later merged with Delta Airlines.
He was a gifted pianist under the guidance of the late Virginia Douglas. He loved life and animals, especially his cocker spaniel Benson. He had a great sense of humor, and was a generous and caring person.
Survivors include his mother and father, Darlene and Gary Graves, brother, Douglas (Laura) Graves of Augusta, GA, an aunt and uncle Deanna (Thomas) Bonneville of Edina, MN, cousins, Steven (Jean), Megan and Kristen Bonneville of Edina MN, Brooke (Brian), Ainsley and Jack Francis of Charlotte, NC and Christopher Nelsen of Alexandria, VA.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jane and Joe Graves of Augusta, GA, Marian and Ralph Nelson of Grand Forks, ND, and an aunt and uncle, Sandra (Dr. Peter) Nelsen of Alexandria, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park Cemetery, Augusta, GA, with the Rev. Mary-Kathleen Blanchard officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at their residence at 1007 Magnolia Drive.
