David D. Goolsby

Augusta, GA – Mr. David Daniel Goolsby, 50, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 22, 2023. David was the loving husband of Ann “Beth” McGowan Goolsby.

David, a native of Atlanta, GA, had lived in the Augusta area intermittently since his teens. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Comforter. David was an outdoorsman and loved fishing; he was a golf enthusiast and a former golf instructor. David had an infectious personality that lit up a room. He always had a funny story to tell and enjoyed brightening others' days which he did regularly.

In addition to his wife Beth, family members include his stepsons: John and William; parents: H.G. and Mary Jo Goolsby; siblings: Mary Nell Goolsby and Lee Goolsby and sister-in-law Patty Goolsby; six nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the Thomas Poteet & Son chapel with Pastor Glenn Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Comforter, 473 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907.
