Martinez, GA - Entered into death Thursday, February 15, 2018, David Allan Hemingway, 62, husband of the late Sara J. Hemingway.

Mr. Hemingway was born in NJ, but grew up in Martinez and graduated from Evans High School in 1974. He joined the Air Force in 1975 and retired in 1999. Mr. Hemingway was a logistics officer in the U.S. Air Force and worked for the CIA.

Family members include his son: Michael Hemingway; step-daughter: Dusty Ramey; brothers: Donald A Hemingway, Kenneth T. Hemingway, Mark D. Hemingway, Douglas B. Hemingway; sister: Jean Myers; grandson: Austin M. Fletcher; and mother: Etta F. Hemingway. He was preceded in death by his father: Donald T. Hemingway; and sister: Janet Mallett.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Garden with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation at Augusta University, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912-0004.
