David L. Jowers, Sr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, October 1, 2012, Mr. David Lee Jowers Sr, 67.
Mr. Jowers was a native of Jacksonville, FL but lived in Augusta most of his life. He graduated from Butler High School and was a Veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. Mr. Jowers began a career with the Suburban Fire Department then later with the Fort Gordon Fire Department. He founded Augusta Tour and Charter where he traveled extensively throughout North America. For the past ten years, Mr. Jowers worked for Rest Masters, Inc. in sales.
Family members include sons David L. Jowers, Jr. and Nicholas J. Jowers; mother: Myrtice Jowers; sisters: Patricia Key, Kathleen Maddocks (Wade), Susan Edmunds (Walter); brother: William R. Jowers (Debbie); five nieces, five nephews, two great nieces and two great nephews; and his adopted grandchildren: Hannah, Karley, Trey and Annistyn. Mr. Jowers was preceded in death by his father William V. Jowers and his sister Katherine Jowers.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Marion L. Jay officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.
