David W. Woods Augusta, GA – Mr. David Wayne Woods, 36, entered into rest Friday, April 15, 2016. David was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Ga.
He was a 3 time Special Olympic medal winner. His smile is known around the world and has inspired thousands of people.
He is survived by his mother: Sue Wayland; sister: Amanda Rue; nephew: Steven Rue; nieces: Jannessa Rue and Addison Ruiz; aunts and uncles: Robert Deshane, Kelly Thompson and husband Ben, Cindy Lieb and husband Tom, Scott Tharpe and wife Belinda, Sean Tharpe and wife Heather; great aunt: Glenda; cousins: Misty July and husband Cedric, Ammber Hoard, Devon Logie-Sweet, Justin MonBarren and wife Lindsey; numerous second cousins; and his forever valentine: Tina Lord. He is preceded in death by his father: Ronald Woods; great grandmother: Vera Widener; grandmother and grandfather: Betty and Leon Tharpe; cousin: Jessica Fulmer; aunts: Cinder Sullivan and Linda Deshane.
The funeral service has changed to a graveside service on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Westover Memorial Park.
