Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, October 18, 2013, Mr. David Worley, Sr., 73, husband of Mrs. Catherine “Boogie” Worley.
Mr. Worley was born in Augusta in Frog Hollow. He was the son of Thelma Bryant Koss and Gordon Van Buren Worley. Mr. Worley was a member of Augusta Municipal Golf. He retired from the Electrical Department with the City of Augusta after 32 years of service. He loved golf, cutting grass, the Atlanta Braves, soap operas and playing softball.
Family members in addition to his wife include children: David Worley, Jr. (Kathy) of Martinez, Teresa Worley Ginn (Bubba) of Martinez, Robert T. Worley of Grovetown, Leonard G. Worley (Shanan) of Grovetown, Patricia R. Worley of Martinez and Layla Worley of Martinez; grandchildren: Carrie Cook (James), Crystal Rolfe (Ben), David Worley, Rebecca Worley, Stephanie Gray (Joshua), Christine Kempter and Karen Best; eight great grandchildren; and brother: Harry Worley of Augusta. Mr. Worley was preceded in death by his brothers: Coy Worley, LeRoy Worley and John Worley.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Bart Grey officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Mills, Jayme Hodges, Danny Crawley, Cliff Hall, Wesley Harp and David Worley.
