Augusta, GA – Mrs. Debbie Peabody Huntress, 76, wife of the late Basil Huntress, entered into rest on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
Family members include children: Patti Peabody of Augusta, Prentice Peabody (Emily) of Allen, TX; 3 grandchildren, Pete, Kate and Charlie; brothers: Howard M. Davis (Lynn), W.W. Davis; and sisters: Juanita Guilott (Clarence), Mary Elizabeth Kennedy, Betty Ruth Travis, Helen Louise Kemp (Wayne), and Patricia Strain (Frank). Other family: Peggy Peabody Carter and husband Bud, Jacquelyn H. Cloud and Joyce H. Herbst.
Debbie was originally from Bush, LA. She has resided in Augusta for the last forty years. She retired from the Richmond County Board of Education. Mrs. Huntress was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. She had a happy nature and enjoyed her family and friends. Debbie had a way of making everyone feel special. She lived life to the fullest and is remembered fondly for her hats and her laughter. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Chapel with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church 1330 Monte Sano Avenue Augusta, 30904.
