Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, January 2, 2023, Deborah Carey Alford, 69.

Deborah was a devoted wife of 51 years, a loving mother and Mema to her grandchildren. She was a selfless person and caregiver that always put others first. She loved nothing better than gardening, a clean house, and a family trip to the Smoky Mountains.

Deborah retired from Columbia County Board of Education as a school secretary and enjoyed serving as a secretary at Warren Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her family with all of her heart.

Family members include her husband: Bruce Gilbert Alford, Sr.; children: Rebecca Mae Hoggard (Steven) and their children, Braeden & Brynlee Hoggard; Richard Jason Alford (Amanda), Bruce G. Alford, Jr.; grandchildren: Tyler Alford, McKenzie Alford, Bo Alford; three great grandchildren: brother: Mario Carey and special uncle: Charles Cason (Cindy).

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Lane Lowery officiating. The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of her father and brothers may be made to tgen.org for pancreatic cancer research.
