Augusta, GA – Went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 17, 2017, Mrs. Deborah B. Ward, 65, loving wife of 40 years to George Ward, Jr.
Mrs. Ward was a native of Fayetteville, NC but has lived in Augusta for the last 25 years. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church and loved volunteering with children’s ministries. She also enjoyed volunteering in the community, especially at St. John Towers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving family members, in addition to her husband, include her sons: Stanley Croteau and George Ward, III; daughter: Meredith Rae Hall; grandson: Charles Brighton Hall; brothers: Thomas and Robert Beatty; and mother: Katherine Lewis.
The funeral service will be Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Brad Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery.
