Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, July 1, 2014, Debra Jean Garlington, 61, loving wife to David Garlington.
Mrs. Garlington taught elementary school for over 15 years. She was an avid reader and was dedicated to educating her students. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughter: Sara Gruber (Jose) of Mobile, AL; son: Jeff Garlington (Melissa) of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Alexander and Maria Gruber, Emilyn and Brantley Garlington; mother: Pauline Schilling of Bristol, CT; and brother: Robert Schilling (Rosemary) of Savannah, GA. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Schilling, and by her brother, Westley Schilling.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Janet Tarbox officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 or to Walton Foundation for Independence, 1555 Independence Dr., Augusta, GA 30901.
