Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, August 16, 2016, Mrs. Deleeta Marie Malone Goldsmith, age 95.

She was born in April of 1921, in Salem, MO, to Oliver Lee Malone and Annie Coppedge Malone. She lived in several Missouri towns until her teens, when she moved to Atmore, AL. There she met her future husband, Roscoe Parker Goldsmith. After their marriage in 1942, they lived in Birmingham, AL; Pittsburgh, PA; and Pensacola, FL; before moving to Augusta, where they were members of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
She is survived by her daughters: Anita Bolin (Richard), Lynne Hester (Dr. Roderick) and Leigh White (Glen); grandchildren: Kimberly VanLeuvan (Drew), Dr. Darci Powell, Dr. Parker White (Olivia) and Austin White; sister: Louise Malone; and nephew: Dr. Lee Malone (Mary Beth). Mrs. Goldsmith was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 2012; her infant son: Steven Parker Goldsmith; her parents; brothers: Dr. Harold Malone (Bessie) and Charles Floyd Malone; and her nephew: Dr. Jacob Malone (Delores).
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016; 3:00 p.m. in the Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Rev. Ken Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the general fund of First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton Way Ext., Augusta, GA, 30909.
