Dennis Luby
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Dennis Paul Luby, 77, loving husband of 55 years to Rosemary Luby. His family was at his side.
Dennis was born March 23, 1947, in Chicago, IL, to Paul and Elaine Luby, and grew up in Ocnomowoc, Wisconsin. He served with distinction in the US Army from 1966-1986, including multiple tours in Europe, Korea, and Vietnam. Following his Army career, Dennis earned a degree from Augusta Technical College and worked as an engineer at Qualex. In retirement, he enjoyed working at the annual Masters golf tournament in April.
Dennis and his wife attended St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grovetown.
Dennis enjoyed walking in volksmarches, playing card games with family and friends, reading, and traveling. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Georgia Bulldogs, attending games as often as he could. Dennis also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on TV. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, frequently attending the events of his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. Dennis cherished each and every moment surrounded by loved ones. He was beloved by all and will be sorely missed.
In addition to his wife Rose, Dennis is survived by three daughters: Theresa Corrigan (Brett), Peggy Cadle (Edward), and Susan Plantamura (Philip); seven grandchildren: Brett Corrigan, Jr., Joshua Corrigan, Amber Cadle, Melody Cadle, Natalie Plantamura, Nicholas Plantamura, and Noelle Plantamura; siblings: Fred Luby (Paulette), Tom Luby (Nina), John Luby, and Ann Sparks (Larry); and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul Luby, Jr.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Grovetown, GA, with Fr. Chris Hassel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Teresa of Avila Columbarium.
The family will receive friends before the funeral Mass on Saturday, May 4, from 11:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. in the narthex of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
