Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, November 5, 2022, Mr. Derrell Armstrong Postell, 66, loving husband to Donna Parker Postell.
Derrell was a lifelong resident of Augusta and was a charter member of West Acres Baptist Church where he was active on several committees. His relationship with the Lord was his foundation. He was an avid supporter of all Greenbrier High School athletics and was a founding member of the Greenbrier “Mafia” along with Don North, Ed Amerson, Tom Cely, and Jamie Newsome.
Derrell loved his family dearly, especially his girls Becky and Mandy. He never missed an event for his grandkids, always managing to be there for them. Derrell was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sharing his passion with his grandchildren. He volunteered his time and love for cooking to help others in the community.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Becky Black and Mandy Postell; grandchildren: Abby Black, Brett Black, Carsyn Black, Andrew Black, Brady Black, and Parker Fox; twin sister: Debbie Huguenin (David); brothers: Greg Postell and Tony Postell (Donna); mother-in-law: Betty Sue Parker; sister-in-law: Sandy Lanier (Charlie); uncles: Ricky Mays (Ann), Billy Mays (Margie) and Buster Postell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents: Alvin and Dorothy Postell; father-in-law: Raiford J. Parker, and uncle, William Postell.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Rd. Evans, GA 30809.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Pastor Malone Morris and Pastor Larry Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Patrick Rivette, Brett Black, Andrew Black, Brady Black, Parker Fox, Scott Hammond, Greg Postell, and Tony Postell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Cely, Terry Holder, David Barnes, Tony Kramer, Jimmy Patrick, Benny Oellrich, Brian Belcher, Billy Jackson, Bob Halliday, Derrick Flanigan, Anthony Sweat, current and former Greenbrier High School Athletic staff and players.
