Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, May 5, 2012, Mrs. Dessie G. Montgomery, 85, wife of Robert C. Montgomery, Jr.
Dessie was born in Bagdad, FL. She retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon in 1991. She was a member of Mitchel Sunday School Class at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, the Augusta Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Scottish Country Dance Society of Edenbrough, Scotland, Clan Montgomery Society NA International. Dessie also enjoyed reading and traveling the world.
Family members in addition to her loving husband include her granddaughter: Melissa Dietel (Warren), great grandson: Tanner Blake Dietel of Winter Haven, FL.; special family: Kimberly and Randy Adamek; trusted friend: Gail Graczyk of Augusta, GA. Dessie is preceded in death by daughter, Pegi Ann Tanner, brothers: Gilpert, Ray and J.C. Gipson, and sister: Lois Gipson.
A graveside service will be held Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. John Pinson and Rev. Wendy Crowell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
